Monday 29th of June 2009

Comments Have your say

Petersfield people can help shape the future of transport in the area by taking part in a major review.

East Hampshire District Council is looking at public and community transport across the district to find out how the services can be improved.

The review, which will focus particularly on the needs of young people, shoppers and commuters, will be presented at the Community Forum for Petersfield, Liss and the surrounding area on 7 July.

Cllr Ken Carter, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Country Towns, and Sarah Hobbs, Community Access Officer, will give a progress update on the scheme.

Cllr Carter said: "This is an excellent opportunity for local people to have their say on public transport. All information collated at these events will be fed back to our consultants and this will really help to shape the future of transport across the district."

The meeting will be held at the Council Chamber, Penns Place, Petersfield at 6.30pm. A workshop giving members of the public and councillors the opportunity to look at options identified by a feasibility study will take place at approximately 7.15pm.

The Forum will also consider an application from Drum Housing Association for £1,800 towards running a summer workshop programme at The Petersfield School.

A member of Hampshire Constabulary will be present during Public Question Time and members of the public are invited to ask questions relating to police issues.

Councillor appointments to outside bodies will also be discussed.
