Grayshott Square goes ahead
Friday 25th of September 2009
Work on a new £200,000 square in Grayshott will now go ahead after getting a cash boost from East Hampshire District Council.
The project is the brainchild of the Grayshott Square Group which was formed to gauge public opinion and draw up a plan.
The brief wanted a classic design that will not date, a simple, practical, low-maintenance design which is environmentally friendly and encourages meeting and shopping.

The new square will provide safe and easy access with shop fronts clearly visible, have immediate impact when viewed from Headley Road and take into account weather and anti-social behaviour.
East Hampshire District Council's Community Forum for the Grayshott area awarded £5,000 to the scheme along with releasing £25,000 of developers' contributions.
The money now means the group has raised the necessary £200,000 for the project.
