Police are appealing for witnesses following a crash near the Chawton Roundabout on the A31 in which an elderly woman was seriously injured.

The crash happened shortly after 2.30pm on Sunday, March 14, when a blue MG, travelling the wrong way on the westbound carriageway of the A31, was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Astra.

An 84-year-old woman, from Farnborough, who was a passenger in the MG car, sustained serious injuries.

Neither the driver of the MG, a 48-year-old woman from Ascot, nor the driver of the Astra, a 57-year-old woman from Four Marks, was injured.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cosham Roads Policing Unit, quoting Operation Carbonate, on 101 or the anonymous Crimestoppers charity line on 0800 555 111.
