Butserquest bandwagon heading for Petersfield

The latest bands to try out for a coveted spot in the line-up for September's Butserfest rock festival battled it out in Alton over the weekend.

Six bands blew the roof off Alton Community Centre for Butserquest, a series of touring gigs which see young judges score acts and pick their favourites.

Butserquest arrives in Petersfield this Saturday for its third outing. The Studio at The Petersfield School, Cranford Road, will host seven more bands hoping to be chosen for Butserfest, East Hampshire's biggest rock concert.

The final show will take place at Horndean Technology College, on Saturday 18 July and after that the bands that have landed a spot at Butserfest, on 12 September, will be announced.

Alton's line-up was comprised of bands from around the south, some with big events already under their belt. The bands were: The Meakins, Brighton, What is life for?, Gosport, The Famous Class,  London, Maiea, Alton, A Thousand Ways to Fall, Canterbury, We Push Buttons, Farnham.

Saturday's gig, starting at 6.30pm also sees some big names on the local scene along with some new faces. The line-up is: Hardly Heroes, Blind Eye Fury, Saxon Black, Thursdays Bad Luck, Reduced to Ashes, Chemical Sunset, The Zedmen.
