13-year-old boy assaulted in street

Police in Whitehill are appealing for witnesses of an assault which saw a 13-year-old boy punched to the ground.

The boy was punched in the face by one of a gang of three boys as he made his way home from school at around 4.40pm, Friday, February 6.

Three boys aged between 14 and 15 years old approached him he walked down Chalet Hil. One of them punched him on the cheek knocking him to the ground. The offenders then ran off.
 
The victim suffered minor facial injuries and was shaken up by the incident.
 
PC Teresa Webster, of the Whitehill Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: "We know a number of people witnessed this incident as they came to help the victim after the assault.
 
"We are keen to hear from anyone who knows who was responsible."
