Talk by writer and illustrator Alan Gilliland

Former graphics editor of The Daily Telegraph, Alan Gilliland, has formed his own publishing company, Raven’s Quill Ltd., to publish his own work, while illustrating for many larger publishers including most imprints of the Penguin Group, two book series, ‘Raid’ and ‘Weapon’ for Osprey, the military publisher, Hachette, Windmill and Ivy Group, Book packagers, and others. He also creates cutaways of buildings for architects and developers.

A writer and illustrator, his first book was an illustrator nonsense quest story for children, ‘The Amazing Adventures of Curd the Lion (and us!) in the Land at the Back of Beyond’. This was made Book of the Year, 2009 by the Loverereading4kids website. His second book, a gothic ghost tale set on the edge of the South Downs between Elizabethan England and today, “The Flight of Birds’ under the name Alan Howard, has sold around 3,000 copies so far.

He looks forward to the opportunity to meet you all and discuss his projects, past, present and future.

The evening starts at 7.30pm and the venue is the Millennium Centre in Liphook. Admission is free for members of BLACS and £3 for non-members.
