George Hollingbery voted onto 1922 committee

George Hollingbery MPMeon Valley MP George Hollingbery has been voted onto the executive of 1922 committee of Conservative MPs.

The 90 year-old committee’s primary function is to keep the leadership of the party informed of the mood of backbenchers. It meets each Wednesday to discuss forthcoming parliamentary business and other topical issues.

“I’m thrilled to be on the executive of such an important and historic committee and it’s especially pleasing that I was voted on to it by my fellow backbench MPs,” said George.

“I now look forward to repaying the trust that my colleagues have placed in me as I get to grips with my new role.”
