Tuesday 31st January 2012

Hampshire Constabulary logoTwo youths were seen pushing a mower through Whitehill shortly after one was stolen from a garden shed nearby.

The pair were seen pushing a red, ride-on mower towards open ground near Conde Way on January 19.

A machine matching that description had been taken after a garden shed was broken into at an address in Waldown Road.

Police would like to trace the youths who were acting suspiciously.

They are described as:

  • White
  • 13-17 years old
  • 5ft 2 and 5 ft 5 tall
  • Clean pale complexions
  • Dark hair or wearing beanie style woolly hats
  • Slim to average build
  • Wearing dark coloured hooded tops and dark coloured trousers

PC Simon Denton who is investigating said: “This is an unusual incident. A witness has reported seeing two youths by the junction of Conde Way and Apollo Drive. They were pushing a ride on mower up a slight embankment on to open ground.

“We would urgently like to speak to these youths. Do you know who they are? Have you been offered a red ride on mower for sale?”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Denton on 101 or via the website www.hampshire.police.uk/internet/contact/message_officer.htm
