Hampshire Artists Co-operative Winter Exhibition launch

Winter Exhibition with 2 guest artists.
During this exhibition the gallery will be featuring two guest artists, printmaker and photographer Garrick Palmer and painter David Puttock.
Garrick’s work is strongly influenced by the use of themes. During the past twenty years of freelance work subjects have included historic buildings, contemporary sculpture, church interiors, jewellery, especially the work of his late wife Ellis Palmer, and, more recently, portraiture.
David returned to painting about ten years ago and sells mainly though private exhibitions at his home. He is often influenced by the meaning of ‘beauty’ and his vocation is to introduce art and the usage of creativity into everybody’s homes.
The members of the Co-operative strive to produce new collections for every show and work includes contemporary jewellery, felt-work, sculpture, painting, drawing, pottery, glassware, textiles, with prices starting at £10. Gift vouchers may be purchased and exchanged for a piece of artwork of choice.
The Co-operative is a member of the Art Council’s ‘Own Art’ Scheme which is designed to make buying contemporary works of art available to everyone. Customers can borrow up to £2,000 or as little as £100 and pay back the loan in 10 monthly, interest free, instalments. Please ask about the scheme in the gallery where the staff will be happy to answer all your questions.
Why not come along to the Selborne Gallery during opening hours, meet the artists and look at the new exciting and original work. During the informal opening launch on Saturday 4th February most of the artists will be in attendance to discuss their work.
The gallery is closed on Mondays.

Lark Rise Exhibition at the Allen Gallery
This new suite of original wood-engraved prints by Sue Scullard has been inspired by Flora Thompson’s texts. Sitting alongside a selection of photographs contemporary with the Lark Rise story (c1880-1910), these images depict and explore the changing English rural experience observed in these remarkable books
