Work continues as bin collections improve
Friday 18th November 2011
Biffa and East Hampshire District Council continue to work to improve the new waste collection service.
The new rounds, which began on October 17, has seen Biffa working across East Hampshire and Winchester after the two councils forged a partnership.
Biffa are putting out extra crews and vehicles throughout the week to catch up on missed work and the backlog of uncollected bins is reducing, although some uncollected bins remain.
EHDC staff have been travelling with the crews to ensure rounds are properly completed.
Crews are getting more familiar with their rounds and permanent solutions are being found for some of the recurrent problems which were regularly affecting some collections.
As a result the number of calls and number of missed bins reported is decreasing.
Both EHDC and Biffa apologise for the difficulties the service has experienced in its first month and thank residents for their continued patience.
Residents should continue placing out their bin on their allotted collection day in accordance with their calendar.
If a bin is not collected please leave it out and call 0300 300 0013 or visit www.working-together.org.uk.

Love this
I am extremely unhappy from the new collecting company. Our collective recycle bin has not been empted many times. It is continuously full. I need to know to who I can complain and how I can sort out the problem???? Our bin area is contaminated and I cannot see the point of this rubbish collection.
