Damian Hinds MP speaks at Community First East Hampshire AGM

Community First East Hampshire celebrated a year of success with a visit from East Hampshire MP Damian Hinds.

On Friday 9 September, Community First East Hampshire held its Annual General Meeting at the Liphook Millennium Centre.

Attended by over 70 members, volunteers and guests, the meeting celebrated the achievements of the organisation over the last 12 months and looked forward to the challenging times ahead.

Damian Hinds MP was the keynote speaker and spoke on Government Priorities, Localism and the Big Society.

He explained that the coalition is committed to localism through de-regulation and decentralisation, empowering councils, groups and organisations within their communities.

He ended by highlighting the three main challenges as he sees them, use of resources, finding easy ways to help and supporting volunteering.

The AGM was followed by an Interagency Forum which involved three workshops on the changing face of healthcare in England, attracting young volunteers and the new South Downs National Park.
