Comments and ‘Love’

CommentingYou can comment on news stories, events and reviews, as well as leave comments on group pages and profiles.

Who can comment on a news story, event or review

Anybody can comment on a story. However to prevent spam there is a different process for logged in and un-logged in users.

Logged in users:

1. Scroll to the bottom of the news story, event or review you wish to comment on

2. Type your message in the box underneath ‘Leave a comment’. Comments are shown in chronological order with the most recent last.

3. Click the ‘Submit comment’ button.

New users must have one message approved by moderators on the site before their comments will appear unmoderated.

To leave a message un-logged users have to fill in:

  • their name
  • their email
  • the comment
  • a captcha form (letters, numbers, squiggles and textures designed to fool a computer set up to send spam)

All comments from un-logged in users are moderated.

Report comment as inappropriate

If you see a comment that you think is inappropriate in any way, please report it to the team at easthampshire.org.

You can do this by clicking on the ‘Report this comment as inappropriate’ button under every comment.

Profanity filter

All comments are subjected to a profanity filter. Words which are on the list will appear with stars rather than the word itself.

Love

If you really like a story, you can ‘Love’ it.

Every news story and event has the easthampshire.org heart logo at the bottom of the post. Click on it to show you ‘Love’ it (similar to like buttons in other social networking sites).

You can see how many other people also love it.

If you change your mind, you can ‘Unlove’ it.
